The Best Free Audio Player Ever
By sergs_pogi
Are you an audiophile, or a music lover? What is your favorite audio player?
Some would say Windows Media Player, Winamp, and so on.
For me, the best freeware audio player is JetAudio.
Maybe many of you would not agree with me.
You have your own benchmark in making your own choices.
For many people, the usual criteria are performance and appearance.
This hub will give you plenty of reasons why you should make JetAudio your default audio player.
JetAudio Is a Total Package
- Audio Player. It can play major audio formats, such as wav, mp3, wma, flac, midi, kar, etc., making it a suitable replacement for other audio players.
- Video Player. It supports popular media files, such as mpeg, mp4, 3gp, wmv, avi, flv, mov, and others, even rivaling Windows Media Player in the number of supported formats.
- CD Ripper. It can rip audio CDs into various audio formats.
- Audio & Video Converter. It converts audio and video files into common standard formats.
- Sound Recorder. It can encode sounds into several audio formats, such as WMA 7 and 9.
- CD Burner. It can create an audio CD from various imported audio formats.
- Timer & Alarm Clocks. You can set the time and choose actions, such as exit windows, enter to standby mode, start or stop playback, and start recording. When the time that you set is reached, JetAudio performs the specified action. This is one of JetAudio’s cool features.
Unique Features of JetAudio
- The playlist window can be docked and hidden on the left or the right side of the screen. If you want to see the list, just hover your mouse over the side of the screen where it is placed. This special feature is not available to other audio players around.
- The main graphical user interface of JetAudio looks like a radio, whose appearance is very appealing. You can also change skins from seven available skins, depending on your preference.
- The sound equalizer is just located, for easy access, below the main window, if you want to adjust the default sound settings.
- On the right side of the main window, there are three more options. You can change the played audio’s speed, pitch, and FX.
- Unlike other multimedia players, JetAudio’s playback options are also accessible using keyboard shortcuts, such as the following:
- Up & Down Arrows – Increase and decrease volume
- Left & Right Arrows – Fast forward and rewind
- Space Bar – Play and pause
- Escape – Stop
- Page Up & Page Down – Next or previous track
You can also adjust the number of seconds the audio jumps forward or backward by going to the Preferences tool – General tab – Playback area.
Other Cool Features of JetAudio
When you stop the song being played by hitting Esc or clicking the stop button, the sound fades out before coming to a stop. This feature is unique to JetAudio.
This makes the sounds very pleasing to the ears unlike the abrupt stop in other media players. This same feature is also available when you change song to be played.
When you successfully install JetAudio, you should see a separate contextual menu labelled JetAudio when you right-click on audio files. That menu contains five options, one of which is the Edit Tag option.
With the Edit Tag option, you can change the tag or information stored in the audio file, as well as add picture and lyrics. When a lyric is saved this way, the lyrics window automatically pops up when a song is played. However, the file size of the audio normally increases a bit.
Free Download
If you want to see for yourself how good JetAudio is, you can download the free version here. The JetAudio Plus VX version has more capabilities than the free version.
These include mp3 encoding, more recording options, and extra audio/video conversion options, among others. You can upgrade any time if you like. However, the free version is already more than enough for your satisfaction.

Yeah. I just want to share my experience that others may like, too. Have you tried using this application?

Hai
This is very fresh information about JetAudio. Need to try in Future. Need your comment for my hubs. Hope too.
Thanks for leaving this comment. I hope you try JetAudio. It's very cool.
Wow - this sounds great! I have been trying to load a DVD on to youtube for instructional purposes but not having any luck. I think I may need to format it, but I do not have a clue where to begin. :) Do you think JetAudio can do this? I tried Windows Media. (Or perhaps, it's just me...:) Thanks
Thanks sergs! I am going to try JetAudio out! Very nicely laid out, detailed article. I'll let you know how I like it!
It plays video too? Wow! Can it edit video? This sounds cool. Thank you!
Hello GmaGoldie. Yes, JetAudio can also play videos. But I haven't tried using it for editing a video. The premium version has lots of additional advanced features you can use. I'm not sure, though, if it supports video editing.
